How to Use Repeat Load in Staad Tools
Convert STAAD LOAD COMB n cards into LOAD n COMB plus REPEAT LOAD for later STAAD versions — or reverse the conversion without touching unrelated lines.
Repeat Load is the browser replacement for Staad Repeat Load. Later STAAD versions want LOAD n COMB … followed by a REPEAT LOAD line, instead of the older LOAD COMB n form.
What it changes
Create on the desktop scanned every line containing LOAD COMB. A valid LOAD COMB n … line became LOAD n COMB …, then a new REPEAT LOAD line. All unrelated STAAD input lines stayed in their original order. The browser converter keeps that result and accepts ordinary whitespace and case that the desktop split-on-single-space routine rejected.
- LOAD COMB 101 1 1.2 2 1.6 becomes LOAD 101 COMB 1 1.2 2 1.6 then REPEAT LOAD.
- Two combinations stay in source order.
- Load cases, PERFORM ANALYSIS, and other cards are left alone.
- Text that is already in LOAD n COMB + REPEAT LOAD form is left unchanged (no duplicate REPEAT LOAD lines).
Workflow
- Paste the load-combination block, or upload a .std snippet.
- Click Convert for the later-STAAD form.
- If you need the older deck back, click Reverse.
- Copy or download the output and replace only that block in the model. Do not paste over JOINT COORDINATES or MEMBER PROPERTY.
How to check the output
The status line reports how many combinations were converted and how many were already in the target form. Spot-check that each combination number survived (101 stays 101) and that REPEAT LOAD sits immediately under the renamed LOAD n COMB card.
Common mistakes
- This is not a load-combination generator. It only rewrites existing COMB cards.
- Do not convert a file that already has REPEAT LOAD unless you intend Reverse.
- Project combinations must still follow the design basis. The converter does not invent factors.
- Keep the rest of the STAAD deck intact — only the combination syntax changes.
